Just Put Yourself Out There
Find out how Houston, Texas real estate agent Rose L. Dunn made over $21,000 gross commissions and added 2 referral clients by getting mentorship to help get her out of her comfort zone and to start putting herself out where people can find her and no longer remain a “secret agent”.
I wonder if you will agree with me on my below theories?
Often times we as real estate professionals are our own worst enemies. We hold ourselves back from the success we know is out there and that we deserve.
However, the interesting part about these ideas is that we are also the only ones who can become our best advocates for the success we are destined to have and the only ones who can push ourselves to be our best.
What I want you to take away from today’s story as you read it below is how sometimes we may need to just get out of our own way and let someone else mentor us and show us who we really can be.
Rose’s strategy has given her an upper leg on most agents because she was taught by her mentors how to not only get clients to easily trust her, but to chase her rather than her chasing them.
Once she has their trust she believes it is her job to help guide them and get them what they want or need to make the best real estate purchasing decisions for themselves and their families.
Rose is a Houston, Texas real estate agent that has gotten out of her comfort zone with a little her from her mentors who you will meet below.
By doing so she was able to secure 1 client and 2 referrals from her now proven and accessible to all strategy and this is her story.
I have been a full-time real estate agent since I first stated back in August of 2015 and I have never been part of a team.
My average home price in my market has been roughly $150,000 and I’ve averaged about 12- 13 transactions each year.
Honestly, I thought I was doing well until I joined agent first group back in July 2021. This is when I met my now real estate mentor and group leader Jaime Resendiz during a meet up with my coach James Rembert AKA the leader of the Zillow Killer Program.
These two men have helped me start to change my mindset when it comes to putting myself out in the public eye.
However, it took me a better part of a year to really begin to change how I thought when it comes to being a “hyper local agent”, and to start becoming more comfortable sitting in front of the camera.
Since joining Jaime at The Agent First Group, I’ve found myself being more comfortable putting myself out there so more clients can find me and also more confident with posting more on all social media platforms.
So far my google profile has been the most profitable social media platform to date.
One of my most recent closings came from a direct message I received from a customer looking for a Houston Texas real estate agent.
I know, the first thing we all think we we see these messages:
“This has to be a scam”
Luckily this time it was not.
We never spoke on the phone, and all of my conversations with this client went through google messages.
We began by discussing different areas in Houston that he was interested in possibly living in, then we were able to narrow down and ultimately find where he really wanted live.
In February of 2023 I started to go out to different communities to send him video feedback on what the homes and communities were like. As well as other information including taxes and pricing.
Once I was able to establish trust through the ground work I was putting in, he began to open up a bit more.
That's when he decided to introduce me to 2 of his daughters who at the time were not planing on purchasing homes.
However, once I spoke to them they were on board and ready to start their own home searches.
So I’d say it was roughly around the end of March when I was able to find a property for one of the daughters.
Then, once the Dad saw the property and neighborhood he also wanted to be in the same location as his daughter.
We were able to find a house for him that was $20K over his budget, but through negotiations and by being kind we were able to get the builder to reduce the price and also cover all closing costs.
It also helped that the father was paying all cash for this home.
The daughter was able to get her home with a 3.5% down payment and we were also able to get the builder to cover all closing costs as well as buy down the interest rate to a 5.5%.
The great thing was the father was able to close 1 week before his daughter.
Since I started to really implement the strategies I've learned from Jaime at the Agent First Group I was able to cap with my brokerage eXp for the first time since I joined 2 years ago.
So far in the first quarter of 2023 I have had 4 closings and currently have 5 pending with 3 pre-approved buyers.
I also have 15 active clients who are looking to buy or list in the next 6 - 12 months.
I honestly could not have done all of this without the mentorship of Jaime and Agent First Group pushing me to get out of my comfort zone.
