How coaching has changed my life

Back around 2014-2015 I got into an SEO coaching program that was roughly $6K and let me tell you…I didn’t have $6K to spend at the time.

My fiancé at the time and now wife and parter for the 11 years, Stefanie and I were planning a wedding. Well…if I am being honest she did most of the planning and I got to participate in some of the decisions. I was a also a school teacher earning a school teacher salary and we had just purchased a new home we were in the middle of building from the ground up.

So yeah money in my eyes was tight.

Luckily Stefanie had a great job that took care of our bills and allowed me some freedom to start thinking about ways that I could contribute more financially as her husband.

So I took a calculated risk and invested in this SEO coaching program to learn SEO in about 30 days time.

I don’t know if we got lucky or I just implemented fast, but we got several paying SEO clients and we even landed a startup that had some cash on hand that paid us pretty well.

I believe they were paying us around $9K. That was split between my partner and I… so I wasn’t rolling in it, but I was earning as much as my teaching job at the time. The crazy part was we did that in a matter of 2 months.

Compare that to how long it took me to become a school teacher. So yeah getting coaching not only paid for itself, but it expedited how fast I could start earning and allowed me to skip all the mistakes the coach had to learn the hard way…through experience.

This success sparked a fire in me that lead me to invest in learning FB Ads, then invest in learning how to manage people, then invest in learning how to scale a V.A. company that lead me to investing in my own team that I manage now and has brought in over $1,000,000 in revenue over the past several years.

Here is the thing…the majority of coaching programs have cost me anywhere from $1,000 - $10,000/year.

Each time I invested in something that gave me one piece of advice that I could take and apply to my growth both as a real estate agent and now coach my income has increased and typically way beyond my initial investment into each coaching program.

Now, I am not running off and telling you to go and invest $6,000 in your first coaching program. That is risky! It is especially risky if you are just getting started or don’t have a lot of capital to invest.

What I am saying is, invest in something that is going to give you a minimum of a $10x return and has minimal risk AND will give you at least 1 piece of advice that will make it feel worth it.

Example: Every student that I have ever coached in our programs that has actually implemented the strategies we or our coaches teach has sold no less than 1 extra home.

So the simple math for you is “If I invested $30 dollars into a real estate mentorship and coaching program and it added 1 extra closing minimum to my bottom line and I am learning from over 50+ agents making $100K - $500K+ and I actually implemented what they share would I be able to make my $30/month back?”

If the answer is “yes” then it is a no brainer and way less if the answer is no then you might look into something else.

So my final thought on coaching is this:
invest in yourself, BUT be sure to invest in coaching from people that you know have insight and experience in what you are trying to accomplish, invest in coaching from people you like, and invest in coaching with people you know you can trust have your best interest at heart.
